In April 2011 Uneek completed a 3 month long project to produce a large helical coil to be used as a radiant heater in Titanium Tetrachloride production. The coil measured 3m in diameter by 11m long and was manufactured from seamless Inconel Alloy 600 pipe. The highly specialised use of the coil meant that all rolling,TIG welding and STT welding had to meet ASME standards. Once completed the coil underwent a rigorous series of tests. This included full radiography on all welded joints as well as a full hydrotest using distilled water. Once all testing was complete the coil was pressurised full of nitrogen for transport to its destination in Western Australia.
